This is part 2 of my Sustainable Storage Ideas post. I am sharing with you easy and affordable ways to organize your pantry. Pantry organizing is a big must if you are in your kitchen frequently.
Here is a list of 20 pantry items that you can store in those glass pasta sauce jars that you have recycled and reused. In my last post, Sustainable Storage Ideas – Pasta Sauce Jars I shared with you the idea to recycle and reuse those jars. Not just old pasta sauce jars but any size glass jars that you can recycle and repurpose can work as well.
This list can go way on and on, way beyond 20 for sure. This list is just what came right off the top of my head. Let me know in the comments what other pantry items you think can fit into these jars.
Pantry organizing – Here is my list of 20 pantry items:
- Grains – millet, quinoa, rice, etc….
- Dried Herbs Spices – the height of these jars are perfect for storing cinnamon sticks.
- Powdered Spices – (ex: ground turmeric, curry powder, or cayenne pepper)
- Peas
- Beans
- Oats
- Cream of wheat
- Active Dry Yeast – (for baking)
- Nutritional Yeast
- Dried Fruit
- Nuts
- Seeds
- Cornmeal
- Small Amounts of Flour (ex: chickpea flour or spelt flour)
- Homemade Trail Mix
- Evaporated Cane Sugar
- Homemade pasta sauce – for storing in the fridge
- Salt – store the leftovers after you have filled your main salt container.
- Canning or pickling vegetables.
