I previously published my “How to Cook Perfect and Fluffy Quinoa” recipe here on my blog and in that recipe I gave instructions for cooking 3 cups of quinoa, which is a lot. Three cups of cooked quinoa is enough to feed a family for lunch and dinner.
So, that prompted me to write up a single serving recipe for how to cook perfect quinoa. Here it is.
Lately, I have been cooking one serving of quinoa for Quinoa Salads and Quinoa Bowls that I have been making lately. Yes, I have been in a Quinoa craze lately.
Therefore, I thought I would share with you a one-serving recipe for Quinoa that you can use as a base for your quinoa salads, and quinoa bowls, or as the main grain for lunch or dinner.
How to Cook Perfect Quinoa – One Serving
Ingredients
- 1 cup Quinoa (washed and drained)
- 1 cup Water
- ¼ tsp Sea Salt
- 1 tsp Coconut Oil
Instructions
- Rinse quinoa and set aside to drain.
- In a small pot on HIGH, bring 1 cup of water, sea salt, and coconut oil to a rolling boil.
- Add in quinoa and turn stove down to LOW.
- Cook on LOW for 13-15 mintues.
- Once all the water is absorbed, taste for doness. Remove from stove and serve.
