Let me start this off by saying that Avocadoes are good for you. They are not only delicious but also good for your health.
What is Avocado?
Avocado is a green fruit with a large pit and a yellow-like buttery inside. Depending on the breed of Avocado, the seed size can vary from the size of a golf ball to the size slightly smaller than a tennis ball.
Avocadoes are the main ingredient for guacamole dips. You can find them in everything from wraps, salads, to even desserts like ice cream and even chocolate brownies.
Are Avocadoes really good for you?
The big debate is that Avocadoes contain too much “fat” to be any good for you. In reality, Avocados do contain a type of fat called monosaturated fat, which is a good-for-you fat. Monosaturated fat is a type of healthy fat that improves cholesterol levels by lowering LDL “bad” cholesterol levels and raising HDL “good” cholesterol levels.
Avocadoes also contain a necessary amount of fiber, one avocado accounts for 34% of the Daily Value of dietary fiber. Here is a fun fact: the nutritional guidelines for Avocado has even been revised to encourage people to eat more because Avocadoes are a rich source of minerals, vitamins, and healthy fats. With that said, let me know in the comments your favorite way to eat Avocadoes.
