Cayenne (Capsicum annuum) thrive in warm climates and its bright red fruit is used fresh or powdered to add a kick of heat. You can use cayenne in its fresh form in all savory dishes such as beans/peas, rice dishes, roasted vegetables, stir-fry – basically any dish that needs a little heat to bring it all together. The ground form can be utilized in dry spices mixes and after serving according to the eater preference and tolerance for heat.
