How To Make Authentic Coconut Milk

You can easily make authentic coconut milk with only two ingredients – fresh coconut and water. The results is a rich creamy milk that you can use is a variety of both sweet and savory cooking as well as in baking. What do I mean when I say “authentic” coconut milk? I mean this recipe is the way to make real coconut milk that taste 100% fresh. Some coconut milk recipes use dehydrated coconut, while this recipe use fresh coconut to give you that authentic flavor and taste in every sip.

As I stated in the beginning of this post, you only need two ingredients to make authentic coconut milk – fresh coconut and water.

You can find fresh coconut in the produce aisle at your local grocery store or international food market. Or if you happen to live on a tropical island, you can find one under a coconut tree. You will have to remove the dry husk and break the outer hard shell to remove the fresh coconut.

Authentic Coconut Milk

You can easily make authentic coconut milk with only two ingredients – fresh coconut and water. The results is a rich creamy milk that you can use is a variety of both sweet and savory cooking as well as in baking.
Cook Time 2 minutes
Total Time 5 minutes
Servings: 6 cups

Ingredients
  

  • 5 cups Water
  • ½ cup Fresh Coconut
Optional
  • Evaporated Cane Juice

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Strainer
  • Milk Jar (preferably glass)

Method
 

  1. In a blender combine fresh coconut with 5 cups of water. Blend on high for 2 minutes.
  2. Strain and store in a glass container in the fridge.
